Christmas is Coming

The Christmas season is upon us. What an exciting time to celebrate the birth of Jesus! We want to invite you to join us in celebrating Christ's birth. On December 13th, during the morning service, we will be presenting a Christmas program. All of the children will be involved as well as the adult worship team. This will be a great time to worship and enjoy the sounds of the holidays. In order to do this, we are asking all of the families that want their children involved to commit to having the children at scheduled practices, provide a costume, and help out in any way. Mrs. Gayla DuVall is going to be directing this season and she has lots of fun music and costumes for us to enjoy. Please take note of the following additional costume preparations:

Preschoolers:
All preschoolers will need to be dressed a a Christmas package. This is a simple costume that can be made out of a cardboard box and wrapping paper. I will provide an example this Sunday at church.

Kindergarten-Second Grade
Red and White costumes will be available fo a rental fee of $10.00. These are available on a first come first serve basis. Please sign your child up this Sunday if he or she plans on participating.

This children will wear denim overalls and white t-shirts. A conductor hat and bandana will be available for a rental fee of $5.00. Please sign your child up this Sunday if he or is planning on participating.

BTW.. THANKS

Thanks to everyone that came out to support CLC's Family Fun Night on October 31st. It was a huge success. We look forward to the next time that we get to gather as families for fun and fellowship! I want to give a special thanks to Mandy Heiser, Dana Brannum, and Bethany Wells for helping to pull this off! You guys are incredible!

Saying Thanks

Last night I was teaching the three and four year olds in the Rainbows class about the ten lepers that Jesus healed. It was so interesting to watch the children as I was teaching them that only one leper came back and thanked Jesus for healing his boo boos. They, of course, wanted to show me their boo boos and pray that Jesus would heal them. It was so humbling to watch these little children approach Jesus for the smallest bruise or the tiniest cut.

Child-like faith. Do we all possess that?

So as I was driving home, I was thinking about my own relationship with Jesus. How many times have I sat as his feet and said thank you for the tiniest boo boo? How many times have I gone on with my life and failed to say thanks for all the blessings that he has given? I definitely think I fall short a lot of the time.

So in the month of November I want to devote this time to saying and giving thanks to all of you that join with me to minister to the children of CLC. Your devotion and faithfulness is greatly appreciated. It is such an honor to receive such a blessing from the LORD and to serve with wonderful servants like you. You make each moment worth it!

I challenge you, dear friends, to think of the people in the lives of your children that are serving the LORD by serving your children. Send them a thank you note, provide a warm fuzzy, or just say "thanks". I promise you, you will brighten someone's day and feel wonderful in the process.

Thanks again for your devotion to our LORD and savior. You are a blessing!

CLC Family Fun Night

CLC Family Fun Night
Saturday, October 31, 2009
5:30-8:00 PM

Come and join us for a night of family fun! We will have hotdogs, popcorn, chips, drinks, and cotton candy. This will be included in the admission charge. Cars will be decorated for trunk or treat so kids can get goodies in a fun and safe atmosphere. We encourage everyone (kids and adults) to dress up in a positive friendly costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume of all ages. We will also be testing our tastebuds on some of the delicious chili provided by awesome cooks in our CLC family. So if you think you make the best chili, please prepare to enter your pot in the great chili cook-off.

We need you to help in the following ways:
  1. Sign up to participate in trunk or treat (We have 5 vehicles registered). All you need to do is provide your own vehicle, decorate it if you would like, and bring enough candy for the kids.
  2. Sign up to help. We will have game booths to run.
  3. Bring baked goods, chili, candy, or new or used toys.
  4. Sign up to come! We need to know how many of you will be attending for food purposes.

We hope this is a night that you will create a fun memory with your family and friends at CLC. Please post a comment to let us know that you are planning on attending. Thanks !
